David Bazan, Johnathan Rice, and Ben Gibbard

In no particular order…

Thats who I went to see Tuesday night at the Town Hall off Times Square. I had never seen Johnathan or Ben in concert before, so I was anticipating it a little bit. Johnathan was amazing live, he’s just a terriffic live. He played almost all new songs which kinda threw me off, but it’s obvious he is really growing as a song writer, I really look forward to what he comes up next.

He sold a three song EP at the show for $3 entitled “A Girl Called Miami,” it has been my company as I deliver stuff around the city lately. So, thanks John.

I wish the show was in a bar or something, where David Bazan accompanies his set with a Q&A, which clearly shows off David’s ability to be badass even after being asked lame questions. I found myself a tad frustrated at the audience when he was preforming. I never have thought of David to be a novelty song writer, but I guess if you have never heard him before you might think songs like “Shittalker” were intended to be funny. People cheered for the covers too…

Here is a photo of David, I sat in the front row.
