Josh is a photographer and cinematographer based in the NYC area, with lots of time upstate where the air is fresh and there are plenty of places to swim. Sometimes he directs, sometimes he doesn’t. He shoots both stills and motion and with the hopes the end result feels genuine and has heart.
He grew up in Tulsa, Oklahoma, went to school at the Savannah College of Art and Design, moved to NYC to work for Danny Clinch, and now is a very happy freelancer with a beautiful wife, the sweetest little baby girl, and a cat.
He has worked with a wide range of artists and familiar names such as Post Malone, Paul McCartney, Leon Bridges, The Avett Brothers, The Black Keys, Skrillex, Sebastian Ingrosso, Dave Matthews, Pearl Jam, Spoon, Willie Nelson, Jay-Z, ?uestlove, The Lone Bellow, Sufjan Stevens, The Punch Brothers, and The Preservation Hall Jazz Band.
His clients are mostly entertainment-based, though he has branched out into the advertising and editorial world as well. His work has been circulated through Rolling Stone, ESPN Magazine, Spin, American Songwriter, CMT, Rangefinder, PDN, Nylon, and Esquire.com. He's been commissioned to shoot for Bonnaroo, Voodoo Fest, Newport Folk Festival, Met Gala, SXSW, Carnegie Hall and various individual musician's tours. Notable advertising brands and clients include Bose, Weber Grills, Gerber, AT&T, New Balance, Advil, Jim Beam, Google, PF Flyers, John Varvatos, Yahoo, BBH London, Droga5, VICE, Sony Records, Atlantic Records, Merge Records, and Vogue among others.
