Produced by Brooklyn’s 1000% Productions and directed by Phil Pinto, it was by far the most extravagent production I’ve ever been a part of.

Live at Preservation Hall: Louisiana Fairytale

Featuring My Morning Jacket and the Preservation Hall Jazz band, shot last summer in New Orleans. I was one of two shooters for the film, I couldn’t be more proud of the final film. It’s premiering at SXSW this week in Austin, TX.

“For fifty years the Preservation Hall Jazz Band has played to keep the traditions of New Orleans jazz alive, both at home and on tour around the world. Along the way, they have brought in collaborators of all musical stripes to play, honor, and reinterpret America’s first true art form.

Louisiana Fairytale documents their collaboration with American rock band My Morning Jacket, showing a legendary group of New Orleans musicians passing on traditions and inspiring a new generation. The film features an intimate performance by both bands in the French Quarter’s historic Preservation Hall.”

Ra Ra Riot – The Orchard

I’m really pleased to announce that Ra Ra Riot has announced their upcoming album “The Orchard” which features a photograph I took as the cover (yahoo!). I spent some time with the band last summer in upstate NY while they were writing and recording for the album. Working with Taryn Gould, we documented their time there, which has been put together as a 45min documentary that comes with the deluxe version of the album. Below is a 2 minute teaser of the doc that I worked on, as well as a few photographs.

Esquire Shoot in Mississippi

Here is a short video highlighting our fashion story shoot for Esquire. If you look closely in the video, you can see me on the couch stomping and shooting (a good combo.) I was the digital tech on the shoot, but ended up shooting a little of the video on my 5D Mark II, most of the video was shot by Mr. Gary Ashley. Not only was it one of the best shoots ever, a chunk of the recording and shoot happened in my bedroom, on my room’s piano. One of the best shoots ever.
